Thematic, a platform that defines the YouTube creator ecosystem by matching music artists to creators with like-minded audiences faced challenges as its artist base expanded to 625,000 creators across 200 countries. Manually managing individual creator payouts became increasingly complex and time-consuming, creating friction and limiting the company’s ability to scale effectively. Thematic wanted to find a technology solution that would streamline payouts to artists, eliminate manual communications, standardize tax and banking data collection, and increase payment method options.

Automated Artist Payouts With Tipalti Mass Payments
In search of an automated solution to simplify its finance operations, Thematic adopted Tipalti Mass Payments to implement a self-service portal to onboard artists and execute royalty payments. As Thematic scaled and enhanced its platform, it integrated with Tipalti’s API solution to create a seamless payout experience. With Tipalti Mass Payments, Thematic was able to execute fast, reliable global payouts, automate artist communications, streamline tax and banking data collection, and provide preferred payment methods with limited fees.
We hit a friction point—paying each of these artists individually on a monthly basis, or once they reach a certain earnings amount, was a complicated process to manage.
