The Challenge
Time-Consuming Payouts Strain Growing Monetization Platform
Stay22 helps travel bloggers and publishers turn content into revenue. But as the company grew, so did the complexity of paying its global network of partners.
Payouts were handled with a patchwork of disconnected tools: bank payments, PayPal for wallets, and Xero for bookkeeping. Everything was done manually: copying data between systems, creating self-bills by hand, and cross-referencing payments line by line. It was time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to scale. In addition, partner success reps spend a significant amount of time answering repetitive questions like “Where’s my remittance slip?” or “When will I get paid?”
Stay22 needed to clean up the process fast with a scalable, integrated solution. Payments had to be faster and more accurate with a significantly better experience for partners—something that would reduce frustration, increase transparency, and support rapid growth.

The Solution
Streamlined Global Payouts with Tipalti and Xero
Stay22 chose Tipalti for its ability to automate cross-border payouts, integrate with Xero, and support partner onboarding. Partners could pick their preferred payment methods and currencies. In fact, they now have access to a broader range of options, including ACH, eCheck, and country-specific local payment methods, making it easier to get paid in the way that works best for them.
Tipalti’s embedded iFrame gave partners real-time visibility into payment statuses and made self-bills available immediately—eliminating confusion and empowering partners with the information they needed.
Even better, by consolidating PayPal, ACH, and wire transfers into one unified system, the entire process now runs through a single platform. No more toggling between systems and spreadsheets.
The biggest win? Automating the creation and reconciliation of self-bills. Tipalti now pushes payment data straight into Xero, automatically matches transactions, and makes remittance slips available to partners. That alone saved hours of admin work each week and virtually eliminated billing errors.
Lower payment thresholds also made a difference. With ACH, eCheck, or local transfer, the minimum payout amount is now just $100 USD for most countries (provided the withdrawal currency is USD), making it easier and faster for partners to access their earnings.
