The Challenge
The Complexity of Global Payouts
Challengermode, a Swedish e-sports platform, connects gamers worldwide with competitive opportunities across games and skill levels. Launched initially as a matchmaking platform for League of Legends, the company has grown significantly over the past decade. Today, it offers an engagement platform that helps game studios, publishers, esports organizers, and brands drive engagement and better experiences. As Challengermode grew, distributing prize money globally—from $100 to $100,000—proved daunting. Payment delays, exchange rate complexities, and operational inefficiencies became barriers to scaling operations. Additionally, small payouts in regions like APAC added layers of complexity, requiring tailored solutions that Challengermode’s team lacked the bandwidth to handle.
Distributing funds globally is highly complex and not our core business. Our focus is on tournament technology, making it easy for players to register, compete, and have fun. Tipalti allowed us to avoid the complexity and time-consuming nature of global payouts, and since we partnered with them, the rest is history.
